Student Dismissals

In order to minimize disruptions during class when a student needs to be dismissed during school hours, the student must bring a note from a parent to the main office before the start of the school day. A pass will be issued to the student allowing him or her to leave class at the appointed time. Please see the excerpt below from the WHS Student Handbook:

"Dismissals To prevent interruption of classes and the disruption of learning, students are dismissed from school via parental notes and written passes. Dismissal notes should be submitted to the office before the start of school. Notes must contain the reason for the dismissal, and the expected time of return, if applicable. Students/parents must sign out in the main office. Parents are requested to plan all student dismissals in this manner; emergencies are an exception."

If your child drives to school and is to be dismissed early, written parental permission is required for the student to leave school, a phone call is not sufficient.
